Anjou Loire Challenge 2011 : Triumph of good old Chriseti
A crazy day at Lion d'Angers : the atmosphere, the winners' interviews, the highlights etc...
Ridden by Wilfrid Denuault, Chriseti is trained by Etienne Leenders, who wins the Anjou Loire Challenge for the 1st time. It is a great family victory as the horse was bred by his wife Christine Leenders'parents. Chriseti beat Phakos, ridden by David Cottin, the outsider Jamais Surprise, a mare trained by Eric Lecoiffier, and the old A New Story (13yo), under Nina Carberry, first overseas runner placed in the race. Indeed, four runners made the trip from England and Ireland to participate to this Crystal Cup's stage. The irish Another Jewel, last year's amazing winner, made the run for a while but could not do better than finishing 6th in this year's edition.
The most important moments of the Anjou Loire Challenge, the longest race in the world ran over 4m4 1/2f.
