Hong-Kong : Gr.1 pour Gibson et Badel
Le jockey français Alexis Badel, actuellement installé à Hong-Kong, remporte la plus grande victoire de sa carrière dans son pays d'adoption à l'occasion de la Chairman's Sprint Prize (Gr.1) lors de la grande journée de printemps, en selle sur Wellington pour le compte de Richard Gibson, entraineur longtemps installé en France avant son départ pour l'Asie du Sud-Est. Attentiste avec l'imposant australien fils de All Too Hard, mais aussi le moins expérimenté de la course, il a transpercé le peloton dans la ligne droite pour s'imposer avec aisance au bout des 1200 m. Le leader Computer Patch conserve in extremis la 2e place devant Sky Field, tandis que la favori japonais Danon Smash a déçu. Wellington vise désormais la Hong Kong Sprint en décembre.
