No Speak Alexander (Shalaa) qui venait de terminer à la dixième place du Prix Rothschild (Gr.1) crée la surprise en remportant les Matron Stakes (Gr.1). La pensionnaire de Jessica Harrington s’impose de haute lutte face à l’élève du Haras de Saint Pair Pearls Galore (Invincible Spirit), qui restait sur deux victoires de Gr.3. La favorite Mother Earth (Zoffany), n’a pas eu les coudées franches dans les derniers mètres, et doit se contenter de la 3e place. Issue de Rapacity Alexander (Dandy Man), une lauréate du Prix La Flèche (L), propre du champion sprinter Hong-Kongais Peniaphobia, No Speak Alexander offre à son père Shalaa, étalon au Haras de Bouquetot, une 1ère victoire de Gr.1.
