Goodwood : la Cup pour le solitaire Quickthorn

Proposé à 16/1, l'outsider Quickthorn a remporté de bout en bout la Goodwood Cup (Gr.1) sur 3200 m, l'une des plus grandes épreuves du circuit des stayers en Europe. Le favori Courage Mon Ami, qui venait de gagner la Gold Cup à Royal Ascot, termine seulement 6e tandis que la solide Emily Dickinson termine 2e devant Coltrane. Monté par Tom Marquand, le pensionnaire d'Hughie Morrison est un fils de Nathaniel né de la souche d'High Chaparral avait remporté 3 courses de Groupe consécutivement l'été dernier, dont le Prix Maurice de Nieul (Gr.2) le 14 juillet à Longchamp.
